Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Dr. Alexandra Mora-Osoria’s path to veterinary medicine has always been guided by her deep compassion for animals and a desire to serve her community. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo before attending Auburn University, where she achieved her lifelong goal of becoming a veterinarian and graduated in 2025.

Today, Dr. Mora-Osoria serves as an emergency veterinarian at Animal Emergency Hospital DeLand, providing calm, skilled care when pets and their families need it most. Her professional interests include shelter medicine, oncology, and preventive care—areas where she can make a meaningful difference for individual pets while also contributing to broader community well-being.

Dr. Mora-Osoria is deeply committed to veterinary outreach and equity in animal care. She has traveled to Costa Rica multiple times to support spay and neuter programs in underserved regions, experiences that strengthened her belief that accessible veterinary services improve lives on a global scale. She is also a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion within the veterinary profession and strives to help foster an environment where everyone feels welcome, supported, and valued.

Outside of work, you’ll often find Dr. Mora-Osoria at the gym, in the kitchen baking something sweet, or relaxing with her beloved cats—Hope and Miracle—who now fill the space once occupied by the dogs she grew up with. Fluent in Spanish and strongly connected to her cultural roots, she continues to learn, grow, and bring her authentic self to the work she loves.
